Who We Are

I was born, raised and still live in Seattle, Washington. At the age of 20, a significant back injury changed my life forever. I was no longer able to do the things I loved such as snowboarding, skateboarding or anything physical. I spent the next seven years going to doctors and having endless tests. I spent a lot of time and money only to have the doctors tell me, again and again, that there was nothing they could do to relieve my back pain...except to give me stronger and stronger pain medication.

Unable to work, I was depressed and miserable. I spent my time just watching movies and finally lost touch with my friends and family. Then after nearly dying from the strongest pain medication there was to offer, I decided things had to change. Against my doctor’s advice, I took myself off all medications. Now after 18 months I still have my back pain, but amazingly, it is less than when I was on the medications. Although I went through a very difficult time of withdrawal from the meds I am happy I did because the pain medications were literally killing me.

My dream and passion was always to design clothing. During the time I was on pain medication, I had many ideas for designs but lacked the will to take them beyond my sketches. Now, free of pain medications, I am more passionate than ever to pursue my dream to design and make clothing.

Many of my designs have several layers of meaning: hence the name ANALYZE CLOTHING. I want my designs to make you think about the possible different meanings of each one. There are no wrong or right answers, just your own interpretation.
